June 2019

Well we put off packing until the very end of the month (rookie mistake....or really just pure procrastination) but we were able to do a couple of fun things in the beginning of the month because of our procrastination.

First we found out the gender of our newest wee one!

We are so excited ! We are definitely feeling a little bit out of our element, seeing as our only experiences come from having a boy. But I assume much of the newborn stuff is the same regardless of boy or girl...sleep, eat, poop repeat. So we can handle that and the rest will come.
I will say I am enjoying shopping for little girl stuff far more than I have ever had for little boy stuff.

Next we enjoyed our typical day to day things. Riding bikes, playing in the rain, feeding our deer, and an impromptu trip to further our procrastination up to Virginia to see Drew, Jess, Naomi and Vivi.

Then we had not so fun things. Going to the dentist, going to the OB....they are so intrusive..., and last shifts at Duke.

We also had the paci fairy come. Ever since Beckham was little I made sure that paci's were for night time and naps only, so it wasn't a huge deal that he had one, but alas the time had come as he is almost four and our new wee girl is on the way and thus the paci fairy was born. The paci fairy comes and takes pcis away to other little babies who need them but leaves a gift for the big boy/girls who had them.
It took a couple of days for him to not ask for them each time, and only two nights of tears once of twice, but they are gone now and I am glad to be done with them....for this kid....

Mimi and Papa came up later in the month and helped out with the Grannies and graciously took Beckham back with them so Zach and I could pack.

And then some of our moving story.
First our pods were WAAAYYY too little. So we had to throw away so much more than we anticipated which was frustrating and laughable. We also found out our new insurance doesn't kick in for 60 days from when Zach started working but only if he started before July 3, which we did not know . So now I am prego and cannot go to a doctor until October 1 when I am 34 weeks, so pray for me! Luckily Zach is a nurse and can take my vitals as I am still in the boring part of pregnancy so that is good!
We also got our car towed at 11 o'clock at night while it was parked on our side walk waiting to be loaded with boxes. So what turned into an almost done officially move out turned out to include a two hour round trip to get our car plus a $200 tow fee to get our car before midnight....some people....

But besides ALLLLL that and then some it was pretty flawless. This has been our first "grown up" move and we made a ton of mistakes, but we have also learned a ton for next time, so I suppose all in all a good thing. We also have amazing friends who helped us pack and drove us at 11pm to pick up our car. from the tow lot (Thanks Vince and Kait) And thanks to Dallin, Kalen, Tom and James for moving all our stuff as well.
Zach found these ugly sunglasses while we were packing that I thought I had thrown out years ago

With the wrong size pod we ended up throwing away a ton of stuff and unfortunately our graffiti garbage can was one of them. Stickers from various places we had visited so sad for us.
On our way down to Georgia we found a Pizza Inn...oh nostalgia
Then we were reunited with Beckham in Georgia and hung out with Mimi and Papa for a few days before heading down to Florida officially.
